Maximum Fitness Gear All-In-One Doorway Chin-Up Bar
We've been wanting one of these for ages, and this product was a good choice for us. Here are the details:
- Came ridiculously quickly (from Amazon) and undamaged, no missing parts.
- I found it pretty easy to put together... took about 10 minutes? Comes with a chintzy little 'wrench' that is certainly usable, but it will be faster with your own socket wrench.
- Fits great in our doorway, which is about 5.5" thick excluding trim; our trim is a little over 5" wide. Seems like both measurements could be a little higher with no problem. DO make sure that you have a doorway with clearance on both sides! This isn't something I thought about beforehand, and it turns out only one door worked.
- It's been frequently used for several weeks now, and there are no marks on the wall. We were planning on taking it down between uses, but it stays up there securely, so we're typically leaving it up. Doesn't exactly look great up there, but being able to do an impromptu set when you walk through definitely increases your daily/weekly numbers.
- Seems pretty sturdy for what it is-- this is not a permanent installation. Don't jump on or swing, etc., and it will be fine. Foam grips are doing ok so far. If there wear out in the future, racket grip tape would work well.
- And actual function: The different grips are definitely useful, and the overall structure allows for some creativity. Allows for wide grip, which is nice. Suggested functions other than chin-up/pull-up are pretty ridiculous.
